We work hard to get things right, but we sometimes make mistakes. When we do, we fix them quickly and openly.
How to report an error
Email corrections@afrisoma.com with the headline and link of the story, what you believe is wrong, and any evidence that helps us check. We aim to reply within two working days.
How we correct stories
- Factual errors are corrected in the story, and a note at the bottom explains what changed and when.
- Clarifications are added when a story was accurate but could be misunderstood.
- Updates on developing stories, such as new casualty figures, are marked with the time of the update.
- Serious errors that change the meaning of a story are also listed below.
- We do not quietly delete stories to hide mistakes. A story is only removed for legal reasons or to protect someone from harm, and we will say so.
